Are you referring to the Watchdog of the Old Lords? Because it is by far the one that has given me the most trouble in all of Bloodborne. I'd rank it up there with the Darklurker in DaSII

Nope, a significant amount of Bloodborne bosses are optional but Father Gascan is mandatory to advance. Keep at it, work on your parries and you'll be able to stagger him easily. If you're not using the blunderbuss, I'd highly recommend it.

I'm going to say Witcher 3 based on the fact that the first two Witcher games are some of the best RPGs to come out during the 7th gen, meanwhile TES:O was pretty much DOA when it released on PC.
