I have some that aren't ports but I guess for some people it gives them a reason to play the game again, or buy it. I've never been a trophy hunter, but I think it's a nice little compliment to the game.

I am all for trophies in games, but to me if I'm paying money for an older game it is already to replay it. I don't really need any trophy incentive. I cant count the number of Nintendo titles I have repurchased across there plethora of consoles and handhelds just to replay them with no incentive other than to play awesome games.

Plus lets be honest sony isn't going to spend money to re-engineer trophies into old games, most of which they did not develop anyways. However I could see them offering Trophies for using the Playstation Now Service.

I always thought it was the game companies responsibility to do that, you know trophy patches, and such

I voted yes. Would love to have FFVII-IX with trophies. VII and VIII already have Steam achievements on Steam, they could just use those.

This is something I would love to see. With how massive my backlog is, I have to prioritize what games I am playing. Unfortunately that means that replaying older titles hardly ever makes it into the priority list. Trophies would help this.

Not that I *only* play games for trophies, but I just feel like if I have already played it before, with as much as I have to play, I need a new incentive and reason to go back.

I believe the cost of going back in and adding trophies would be too much for just a port of a PS1 or PS2 game.

I would love it in theory. In practice it'll probably increase prices. Every game isn't going to get an HD remake though, but... Disgaea 1 and 2 trophies? Bring 'em. Um Jammer Lammy Trophies? Bring it!

Patents are cranked out so that a company doesn't get sued for doing stuff. Patents are leverage and not much more.

Agreed. I know we never got the PS(?) controller that changed textures either, and we probably never will (maybe that was an attempt to do patent trolling on porn companies one day?). I'm just throwing the possibility out there. :-D
